Big news for little learners
The
CSIU has been awarded a two-year grant under the federal stimulus
program to conduct an Early Head Start program in Northumberland
County. A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held April 14, 2010 to celebrate
the program opening (click here for news coverage).
Head Start programs for 3- to 5-year-olds have been operated by the CSIU in Northumberland Area for many years. The new grant will fund expansion of services to children from birth to age 3. Besides learning and developmental activities for children, nutrition counseling, health data tracking, parenting skills training and family guidance will be provided to parents.
