LPN Career Center earns distinction
This 100 percent first-time pass rate is well above the national average of 82 percent, according to the National Council of State Boards of Nursing.
“Our faculty and students embrace an attitude, commitment and culture of excellence as they look for ways to improve and implement productivity and scholarly service,” said Kim Delbo, director of the LPN Career Center in Lewisburg. “We are very proud of December’s class for earning this distinction.”
News of this remarkable achievement came not long after the LPN Career Center was ranked among the top five nursing schools in the state. The Nurse Journal attributed the LPN Career Center’s many choices available for study, program affordability and its central location for being a “practical and highly regarded” choice.
Administered by the Central Susquehanna Intermediate Unit (CSIU), the LPN Career Center offers both full- and part-time programs. “Our staff are deeply invested in the students,” said CSIU Executive Director Kevin Singer, “and our students are committed to their education and training. It comes as no surprise that the LPN Career Center is recognized for being a gem in Pennsylvania. It is something our local community has known firsthand for many years.”
The LPN Career Center originally opened in 1967 under the operation of the Danville Area School District. Thirty years later, the CSIU assumed operation and since moved the program to its current location in Lewisburg.
Registration is currently open for the part-time class that begins in January, and the deadline is August 1. The 12-month, full-time class begins in August of each year and registration for the August 2017 full-time class opens August 2, 2016 and runs through March 1, 2017.
